CI

This deadpan comedy skewering of Silicon Valley's addiction to micromanagement and self-congratulation was a huge hit on film festival circuit.

C.I.

A TEDD TALKUMENTARY

This rockumentary style all-access pass to the most watched TEDD Talk of all-time delighted thought leadership groupies at film festivals around the globe.

FILM SYNOPSIS

Real-life Silicon Valley innovator Michael Fertik plays Michael Fertik, a start up superstar attempting to top his past success with a game-changing TEDD Talk, recorded for posterity by a documentary film crew.

Fertik’s revelatory TEDD talk explains the concept of CI or counterintuition, a simple trick that promises to help anyone unleash their inner-innovator and disrupt their conventional lives.

Fertik’s stupefying talk is interwoven with intimate, Errol Morris-style interviews of Fertik and his real-life investors, David Cowan and Mike Maples, and remote interviews with fans attending TEDD’s annual once in a lifetime event.

CI FUN FACTS

• The original concept for the TEDD Talk was Michael’s disappointment with the time slot of his TED Talk.

• It goes without saying that any rockumentary owes a debt to genre pioneers like Gimme Shelter, Don’t Look Back and The Song Remains the Same. There are three films outside these obvious classics which the CI production team found particularly inspirational: U2’s Rattle & Hum for its unbridled self-congratulation, Heavy Metal Parking Lot for its brutally honest shallowness, and Errol Morris’ The Unknown Known for its stylishly soul-sucking interviews of Donald Rumsfeld.
